BMW Sets New Sales Record in 2024: Over 371,000 Vehicles Sold in the U.S.

BMW hit new heights with 371,346 vehicles sold across the U.S., reflecting a 2.5% increase over the previous year. This marks BMW’s second consecutive year of growth, driven by innovation, dedication, and an exceptional lineup that continues to captivate drivers nationwide.
A standout highlight of 2024 was the surge in electric vehicle (EV) sales, with over 50,000 units sold for the first time. Leading the charge was the BMW i4, reinforcing BMW’s position at the forefront of the luxury EV market.
A Strong Finish to the Year
The fourth quarter of 2024 delivered remarkable results, with 117,506 vehicles sold, representing an 8.9% increase compared to Q4 2023. Passenger car sales led the charge with a 12.9% rise, while light trucks followed with a solid 6% growth.

Electrifying Success
BMW’s EV lineup made significant strides in 2024, with 50,981 fully electric vehicles sold – a 12.3% increase from the prior year. When combined with plug-in hybrids, BMW’s electrified models totaled 70,379 units, making up 19% of all sales.
Here’s a closer look at the stars of the electric lineup:
- BMW i4 – With 23,403 units sold, the i4 continued its reign as BMW’s best-selling EV, reflecting a 3.6% year-over-year growth.
- BMW i5 – In its first full year, the i5 experienced incredible growth, with 8,763 units sold – a staggering 310.8% increase.
- BMW iX – Despite increased competition, the iX secured 15,383 sales, highlighting continued interest in luxury electric SUVs.
- BMW i7 – BMW’s flagship electric sedan maintained steady demand with 3,431 units sold, reflecting 0.9% growth overall.
