BMW Lease Return Process and Timeline

End of Lease Planning

Our Portfolio Manager will reach out to you approximately six months before your lease ends to discuss your options and to remind you that your lease maturity date is approaching. When you are ready, we will invite you to come to the dealership for a pre-inspection of your current BMW and to go over your options. If you are planning on leasing another BMW, you can also test drive the BMW model of your choice and go over any of the latest BMW technology and features with one of our BMW Geniuses.

Vehicle Inspection

At this time, the independent inspection company will evaluate the condition of your BMW. Upon completion of the inspection, a Vehicle Inspection Report will be sent to you, upon request. Your Vehicle Inspection Report will outline required repairs or associated costs for excess wear and use, if any. Should your vehicle require service or repair, you have the option of either having the work completed prior to vehicle return and submitting receipts to BMW Financial Services or paying the charges outlined in the report at vehicle turn-in. We recommend completing the recommended repairs with our service department.

Returning Your Vehicle

If you plan on returning your BMW, it must be brought in to Bill Jacobs BMW in Naperville on or before the lease maturity date. Please give us a call and schedule an appointment in advance. We will review the condition of your vehicle and confirm that all necessary repairs have been made. Both you and Bill Jacobs BMW will then sign a Vehicle Return Confirmation form to validate that the turn-in process has been completed.
