The key to avoiding strange wear patterns on your tires is wheel service, specifically alignment. When your tires aren’t at the right angles, they can wear out the treads on your tire at an accelerated rate, putting you and your vehicle in danger. If your car is 2WD, only the front tires need alignment, known as a two-wheel alignment.
The three angles of a wheel are camber, caster, and toe. Toe is how the front of the wheel points, usually left or right (when the wheel is in neutral), camber is how the top of the wheel points, generally in or out, and finally, the caster is how the strut is rotated, either forward or backward. Our certified technicians use high-tech cameras to measure and calculate all three of these angles, and then they go about putting your wheels at the angles recommended by the manufacturer.
A car with 2WD has what’s known as a fixed axle in the back. A fixed axle is connected to the wheels such that it prevents them from coming unaligned, negating the need for wheel alignments. The wheels still need to be rotated and can need patching and tread inspection, which we also provide. Hence, your 2WD car only needs a front wheel rotation, and we have service hours Monday through Saturday during which you can schedule an appointment or bring your car in!
